DUBLIN GIMP

Image
In this project, I improved a landscape photograph using GIMP. First, I corrected the inclination and perspective to straighten the vertical elements. Then, I cropped the image to a 15:10 aspect ratio and removed unwanted elements using the clone tool. Finally, I adjusted the resolution, added my name in a discreet place and exported the final image as a JPG.

FLAGS

Image
I made the flag of Guinea by creating three equal vertical stripes in red, yellow, and green. I positioned them from left to right and applied the official color values to keep the design authentic and balanced.I chose the flag of Guinea because its colors carry strong meanings and the vertical layout allowed me to practice symmetry and precise alignment. It is simple but visually powerful, which made it interesting to recreate. To make the flag of the European Union, I started with a deep blue rectangle and then added twelve golden stars arranged in a perfect circle. I used alignment tools to distribute the stars evenly and ensure the circle was centered on the flag. I created the flag of Switzerland by drawing a red square with equal sides and placing a bold white cross exactly in the center. I used guides to keep all arms of the cross perfectly aligned and maintained the official proportions to achieve a clean and accurate design.

DIGITAL SECURITY2

PROBLEM: You received an email from a trusted friend and clicked on an attachment that looked safe — maybe a document, picture, or invoice. However, as soon as you opened it, unknown software was automatically downloaded onto your computer. This situation is a classic example of a malware infection via email attachments . Cybercriminals often use compromised email accounts to spread malicious software (malware) through fake or disguised files. These attachments may install spyware, ransomware, or trojans that can steal your information, encrypt your files, or allow attackers to control your computer remotely. Even if the email appears to come from someone you know, it’s possible their account was hacked, and the message was sent without their knowledge. FIVE TIPS TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM:  1.Disconnect from the internet immediately. This stops the malware from sending data or downloading additional files. 2.Run a full antivirus or anti-malware scan. Use reliable software suc...

DIGITAL SECURITY

PROBLEM:  Many smartphone users today encounter a type of social engineering malware that pretends to be a system or antivirus update . This malicious software attempts to trick you into installing “security patches” that are actually harmful apps. Once installed, they can access personal data, display fake virus alerts, or redirect you to phishing websites. This is a common form of “Mobile Scareware” , a program that scares users into taking unsafe actions (like installing fake software or paying for fake protection). FIVE TIPS TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM Never install updates from pop-up messages. Only update your phone through official app stores or the device’s built-in update system. Check the source of every notification. Scammers often use fake system alerts that look real — tap the gear icon → “App Info” to confirm the sender. Install a trusted mobile security app. Use reputable antivirus software such as Bitdefender, Malwarebytes, or Norton Mobile Security. C...
